Our music ministry groups provide music for worship on alternate Sundays. The Lancaster UMC Chancel Choir, directed by Rev. Heather KinKennon, rehearses every other Sunday at 8:45 a.m.. Our "Y'All Sing" volunteer musicians rehearse after hours at times arranged by team members. Our Oliver Handbell Choir, directed by organist Mary Zimmerman, contributes to worship on select Sundays; the main handbell choir and handbell training choir rehearse on Thursday afternoons.

Rev. Heather KinKennon
Deacon and Minister of Music
Deacon Heather holds BA and MFA degrees in Music from UCLA, as well as a MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In addition to her duties at LUMC, she serves as Adjunct Faculty in Music at Antelope Valley College, teaching classes in voice, music theory, and Music Appreciation. Since 2010 she has served as the pianist and choir director for the High Holiday services at Congregation Beth Knesset Bamidbar.
Mary Zimmerman
Organist and director of Oliver Handbell Choir
Mary recently celebrated her 40th anniversary as organist at LUMC. She graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a BM in Piano Performance. In addition to her duties at LUMC, she maintains a busy teaching schedule in her private music studio. Additionally, she has served as a staff accompanist at Antelope Valley College, as well as music director for many local theater productions.
